School Meals

From September 2020, the cost of a school lunch for pupils in Years 3-6 is £2.10.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal at lunchtime.

We use SCOPAY for our online payments; you may already have an account, if so, they also have a mobile app. Cash and cheques are also accepted. Please make cheques payable to 'Caterlink Ltd' and hand it to the school office.

For parents not yet using SCOPAY, did you know you can pay for your child's school lunches, trips and events. Using SCOPAY allows you to top up your child's account anywhere, anytime using a credit or debit card.

All parents have access to SCOPAY. If you have not yet registered to make online payments, please let the school office know and an access code will be issued to you.

Please remember to check on a regular basis that you have enough money in your account to pay for your child's meals. You can easily set up a balance alert which will notify you when your account falls below a given threshold. We would suggest a threshold of between £5 and £10 to prevent your account going into arrears. A step-by-step Parents Guide is provided below.

Please visit the SCOPAY PARENT INFORMATION PAGE for useful guides and Frequently Asked Questions.

St Nicholas School is a 'Nut Free' School

St Nicholas CE Primary School aims to protect children who have allergies to nuts yet also help them, as they grow up, to take responsibility as to what foods they can eat and to be aware of where they may be put at risk. We request that parents and carers observe the nut-free policy and therefore do not include nuts, or any traces of nuts, in packed lunches. This includes packets of nuts, cakes or fruit and cereal bars which contain nuts or sesame seeds, and sandwiches containing nut-based spreads. This rule also applies to cakes made for class Cake Sales. All homemade contributions to the Cake Sales must have a label listing all ingredients present.

Parents and carers must notify the school office if their child has any known or suspected allergy to nuts and provide all medical and necessary information. This will be added to your child’s care plan.

We do not feel it is appropriate to distribute sweets or chocolate brought in from home to the whole class to mark a child's birthday for several reasons. Please see our 'Food (Whole School) Policy' on our Policies page for more information.

Cool Milk Scheme

All children under 5 years of age are entitled to receive a free carton on milk each school day. Please visit Cool Milk to register or print and complete the Registration Form below. Alternatively, a paper form can be collected from the School Office.

If your child would like to receive milk after their 5th birthday, Cool Milk can supply it for a nominal fee (around £14 per term).
