From September 2022, the cost of a school lunch for pupils in Years 3-6 is £2.15 per day (£10.75 per week) unless they are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal at lunchtime as part of the Government's 'Universal Infant Free School Meals' scheme. Children can order their lunch during morning registration with their class teacher from the termly menus provided.
Parents use SCOPAY to pay for lunches and for other online payments such as school trips. SCOPAY also have a mobile App to make it easier to order and pay for lunches on your mobile device using a credit or debit card. Cash and cheques can also be accepted - please make cheques payable to 'Caterlink Ltd' and hand it to the school office.
If you have not yet registered for a SCOPAY account, please let the school office know and an access code will be issued to you.
Please check your lunch account regularly to ensure there is sufficient credit and 'top up' when necessary.
Please visit the SCOPAY PARENT INFORMATION PAGE for useful guides and Frequently Asked Questions.
St Nicholas School is a 'Nut Free' School
St Nicholas CE Primary School aims to protect children who have allergies to nuts yet also help them, as they grow up, to take responsibility as to what foods they can eat and to be aware of where they may be put at risk. We request that parents and carers observe the nut-free policy and therefore do not include nuts, or any traces of nuts, in packed lunches. This includes packets of nuts, cakes or fruit and cereal bars which contain nuts or sesame seeds, and sandwiches containing nut-based spreads. This rule also applies to cakes made for class Cake Sales. All homemade contributions to the Cake Sales must have a label listing all ingredients present.
Parents and carers must notify the school office if their child has any known or suspected allergy to nuts and provide all medical and necessary information. This will be added to your child’s care plan.
We do not feel it is appropriate to distribute sweets or chocolate brought in from home to the whole class to mark a child's birthday for several reasons as stated in our 'Food (Whole School) Policy' (available on request).
Cool Milk Scheme
All children under 5 years of age are entitled to receive a free carton on milk each school day. Please visit Cool Milk to register or print and complete the Registration Form below. Alternatively, a paper form can be collected from the School Office. If your child would like to receive milk after their 5th birthday, Cool Milk can supply it for a nominal fee (around £14 per term).
